Firass El Fateh

Owner / Coach

About Firass

After graduating from high school in Abbotsford, Firass attended Saint Mary’s University in Halifax on a football scholarship.

Upon completion of his Bachelor of Commerce Degree, Firass moved back to his home town in Abbotsford. He worked in a corporate setting for 5 years. However, his passion for fitness was too strong and he decided to pursue a career in that field.

Firass completed his OPEX CCP and has been a Fitness Coach for almost a decade now. In that time he’s helped many people achieve their health and wellness goals through a holistic approach.

When he’s not coaching, Firass enjoys working out (of course!), and spending time with his two young children and wife.

Jerome Carretas

About Jerome

Born and raised in Abbotsford, Jerome began his fitness career at a very young age. Having close to a decade of fitness knowledge  and athletic background, he became one of the youngest fitness leaders to operate a multilevel fitness club.

From managing and developing the future trainers, he continued to help and show people how easy fitness can be without having to feel overwhelmed in the process.

Jerome has completed his CPT through CFES, DNS (Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization) Certification, Trigger Point, Fascial Mobility Certified, Hypervolt, Chinese Level 1 Olympic lifting, Agatsu Kettlebell Certification and Certified Bulgarian Bag Instructor.

When he’s not coaching or training, Jerome is a semi-professional dancer!  That travels around the world with his dance partner to share his other passion in life.

Rachel Martens

About Rachel

A passion for health and wellness brought Rachel to complete her Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology in 2020. Over the years she’s gained experience in the field as a personal trainer, group fitness instructor, health coach, and now Kinesiologist. She enjoys working alongside people to get them moving well and feeling their best. Outside of work Rachel loves the outdoors and being active

Valerie Joseph

About Valerie

Valerie attended the University of the Fraser Valley, graduating with her Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology, with a specialization in exercise physiology and a minor in Media and Communication studies. Through active rehabilitation and coaching, Valerie aims to promote healthy living and positive habits.

Participating in numerous sports throughout her youth, and undergoing various injuries doing so, sparked an interest in the world of health and fitness. Her passion for movement, empathy for pain, and dedication to continuous learning enables Valerie to create well rounded programs for her clients. She aims to provide a safe and effective service that will overcome client obstacles and propel them into a hearty and healthy future.

When not at work, Valerie can be found adventuring out in the great outdoors. She specifically enjoys paddle boarding, hiking, and weightlifting.

Logan McDonald

About Logan

Logan McDonald was born and raised in Abbotsford, BC, and is excited to return to his hometown to give back to the local community. After beginning his studies in Kinesiology at the University of the Fraser Valley, he went on to complete his Bachelor of Science at the University of Western States. Logan is currently in his final year at the University of Western States, where he is completing both his Doctor of Chiropractic and Master’s in Sports Medicine degrees.

While in chiropractic school, Logan served as a leader in the Rehab 2 Performance Club, where he further developed his rehabilitation skills and mentored fellow students. He takes a personalized, patient-centered approach to care, integrating various treatment methods to help each individual reach their unique goals.

Logan grew up playing a variety of sports, which sparked his passion for treating athletes and supporting performance at all levels. In addition to his clinical training, Logan is also a coach, bringing his experience and education into the gym to guide clients in safe, effective strength and movement programs. His coaching is focused on building long-term health, resilience, and confidence.

Outside of the clinic and gym, Logan enjoys golfing, fishing, and staying active in the outdoors.

How Does our Small Group Personal Training Work?

Consider this to be our “hybrid” model of personal training. Basically, you get all of the perks of having a personal trainer, at a cheaper price point. With this training service plan, you will receive a:

Dedicated Personal Coach who performs your assessment, creates your training program, helps you with your nutrition and lifestyle and hold you accountable so you can get attain your goals!

Personalized Training Program for you to follow based on your goals and abilities. This program progresses as you progress. No random workouts, no cookie cutter templates.

Monthly Consultations with your personal coach to discuss your training plan and provide nutrition and lifestyle guidance.

Unlimited Private Communication with your personal coach through our app in case plans change and or you have a question.

Flexible Training Schedule because we know life can be hectic sometimes. Your coach plans your training week out for you, but ultimately you decide when you workout based on the day/times that work for you. Each time you come into OPEX, there will be a coach on the floor to help facilitate your workout.

Private Gym with Floor Coach who will float around the room checking in on you and your peers to make sure you are performing your training plan safely, answer any questions, and be there to support you.

As you can see, the main difference between this plan and 1-on-1 personal training is that your personal coach is not necessarily with you at every workout to watch you exercise. If you are looking for that type of personal training, we also offer it and would be happy to work with you! Instead, you’ll be working out in our private gym with one of our floor coaches who will support you and make sure you are safely following your training plan that your personal coach designed for you. We’ll ensure to match you up with a coach that will be floor coaching during the times you’ll likely be in the gym. This way you get to work directly with your own coach.
