Youth Training Program

Building stronger young athletes

Safe, age-appropriate strength and movement coaching for youth. We build the foundation, the confidence and the habits that carry them through sport and life.

Coaching built for growing bodies

Young athletes aren't small adults. Our youth program starts with a movement screen and an honest look at where your child is today, then builds an individualized plan that develops strength, coordination and confidence at a pace that's safe for their stage of growth.

Why start young

The best time to build good movement is now

The years between 11 and 18 are when young athletes build the movement patterns, strength and coordination they'll rely on for the rest of their lives. Done properly, youth training reduces injury risk, boosts confidence and gives them an edge in their sport. Done poorly, it can do the opposite, which is exactly why every OPEX program is coached, individualized and technique-first.

  • Safe, supervised progression

Loads and skills advance only when your athlete is ready, guided by a certified coach every session.

  • Athletic development, not maxing out

We build well-rounded movement and strength, not one-rep records, so young bodies grow durable.

  • Confidence that carries over

Skills learned here show up on the field, on the court and in how they carry themselves.

See it in action

A look inside a youth session

Watch one of our coaches put a young athlete through the kind of coaching your child would get at OPEX: proper technique, real feedback and progressions built for their stage of development. It's focused, it's fun, and it's exactly how good movement becomes second nature.

Every rep is supervised, every drill has a purpose, and because we train and treat under one roof, our coaches can flag and manage anything that comes up before it becomes an injury.

What to expect

A plan built for your athlete, supported the whole way

It starts with a free consultation and movement screen. Your coach learns your athlete's sport, goals and history, screens how they move, and builds a program designed around their body and their stage of growth. As they progress, the plan adapts, and a dedicated coach keeps them accountable and engaged so they keep showing up.

Because we train and treat under one roof, your OPEX coach coordinates directly with our chiropractors, RMTs and kinesiologists. That means training and recovery work together, whether you're in our Abbotsford or Chilliwack facility.

Frequently asked questions

What ages is the youth program for?+
Our youth program is built for athletes roughly ages 11 to 18. Every young athlete starts with a free consultation and movement screen so we can tailor the program to their age, stage of growth and sport.
Is strength training safe for kids and teens?+
Yes, when it's coached properly. Age-appropriate, supervised strength training is one of the safest ways for young athletes to reduce injury risk and build durability. We lead with technique and movement quality, and loads only progress when your athlete is ready.
Does my child need to play a sport to join?+
Not at all. Many of our young athletes are competitive, but the program is just as valuable for any kid who wants to get stronger, move better and build confidence.
What if my athlete is recovering from an injury?+
That's one of our biggest advantages. Your coach coordinates directly with our on-site kinesiologists and practitioners so your athlete can train safely around an injury or transition smoothly out of active rehab.
